The very first time I went for a run, it around 6 pm. At the time I didn’t know about the amount of dust in the air from all the cars driving around. I was elated for the first 10 minutes of my run as I looked around thinking about how I’ve always wanted to run in Africa! On the 15th minute I noticed it was getting harder and harder to breath. At first I thought my cardio was bad but by the 20th minute I started coughing up phlegm. When I got home I was experiencing what I call “runner’s cough” instead of a runner’s high. I went for a couple early morning runs to avoid the dust but it didn’t help! For the rest of the trip I just stuck to my “homemade” gym.
